During the corona virus global pandemic, Jacqueline started to prepare to tell stories through film and television by studying filmmaking and screenwriting. She also started to do background acting to get hands-on experience with working on sets.
Early in 2023, Jacqueline worked on the “See No Evil” television series, in the role of a police officer. To her surprise, the director asked her to say a line, and this ultimately bumped her from background performer to actor. She was delighted with the opportunity to speak, in the scene. In fact, she enjoyed her television acting debut so much that she added acting classes to her studies.
Later in 2023, Jacqueline retained an acting talent agent and within two months, she landed her next acting role as an interviewer in a Loran Scholar outreach video. The following month, she landed the role of Ms. Banks, in the “Fortescue” feature length film, in which she portrayed an influential director; she also quickly learned to canoe, on set. And, in 2024, Jacqueline worked on a short film called “Sugar Dumplin’,” in which she leveraged her Caribbean roots to portray Janet Brown, a wise and compassionate mother.
Jacqueline continues to hone her skills through training, and coaching, and welcomes opportunities to tell stories via new, and challenging roles, in front of, and behind the camera.
After working for thirty five years in the health care industry, in various roles, from lab assistant to digital manager, Jacqueline is delighted with her transition to telling stories. And she is proud to follow in the footsteps of her daughter, a talented actress who pursues her craft with passion.
